Role Description The Nursery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Virginia Beach, VA. This position oversees daily nursery operations, including plant care, inventory management, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and monitoring plant health. The Nursery Manager coordinates staff schedules, assigns tasks, and trains team members on proper handling, storage, and maintenance procedures. The role includes ordering supplies, organizing deliveries, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and ensuring equipment is used correctly. The Nursery Manager also communicates with internal teams and customers, supports quality standards for plants leaving the nursery, and maintains accurate records of stock levels and nursery activities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Management experience in the green industry, including supervising day-to-day plant care and crews.
- Exceptional management experience and strong organizational skills as well as consistent structure.
- Strong Communication skills for coordinating with team members, vendors, and customers, and for providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Background in horticulture, landscaping, or related field; relevant certifications or coursework are beneficial.
- Ability to perform hands-on work in outdoor conditions, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems independently.
